A package with a touch of Bornholm
When you open a box from Eat-On-Bornholm, the experience begins even before the product reaches the table. Each layer tells a story about nature, craftsmanship and the people who are part of our history.
A connection with nature comes as standard
We want to maintain that connection with nature right up until the moment you take the product out of the box. That’s why we use simple materials that protect the item on its journey to your home, whilst also helping us to reduce our use of plastic.

A natural setting for unpacking
Inside the box, the product is protected by hay or straw from Danish fields. This natural material envelops the item, creating a warm and sensory setting for unpacking it.
The newspaper is taking on a new role
The item is wrapped in pages from Bornholms Tidende. Family and friends on Bornholm collect the newspapers for us. In this way, a little piece of everyday life on the island travels on with the parcel.

In the wool’s natural colour
We tie a string of Hammershus yarn, in the wool’s natural grey colour, around the newspaper. The yarn contains wool from the sheep at Hammershus and is used instead of tape to secure the item.
It’s a small detail, but it creates a visible link between the parcel and Bornholm’s natural landscape.
Easy to recognise and use again
The black box is manufactured in a Danish factory from FSC®-certified paper and contains up to 70 % recycled paper. On the outside, the box features a label with a picture of the item, the product name and the item number. This makes the contents easy to recognise, and the box can subsequently be used for storage.

Thank you for making room for our designs in your home
In every product box, we include a leaflet personally signed by Per. It’s our way of saying thank you for making room in your home and around your table for a product from Eat-On-Bornholm.
This is where your part of the story begins
When you untie the string and unfold the newspaper, you’ll discover a product that has been crafted by hand. The slight variations in shape, texture and colour are a natural part of the craft and make each product unique.
Now the next part of the story begins: the meals and moments you create with it yourself.
